Band and Orchestra Travel to St. Louis

Bright and early Friday morning, April 6th, the band and orchestra loaded three charter buses and started their journey to St Louis. The first stop on the 6-hour bus ride was Iowa City for a clinic with the band director of The University of Iowa. It also included a tour of the campus. After arriving in St. Louis, the students board a paddle boat for an amazing dinner cruise experience on the Mississippi River.

The following day, everyone visited the St. Louis Zoo, which was still full of amazing sights and animals despite the cold weather. Later in the day, the students had the opportunity to ascend the Gateway Arch. It was a very informative experience, sprinkled with informative pictures and video documentaries. The experience concluded with students getting the best view imaginable of the whole city from 630 feet in the air. The night was finished with an unforgettable experience of watching Harry Potter and The Prisoner Azkaban, accompanied by the St. Louis Symphony, who played the movie score live.

Although many of the events such as performing under the Arch, and going to six flags, were canceled due to weather, the students still had an incredibly fun and unforgettable experience on their weekend trip to St Louis.
