Mohawks Boys Golf: A Season to Be Proud Of

The 2018 Boys Golf team finished the season off with several accomplishments worthy of praise. The team had a historic season with the lowest scoring average seen in the last 11 years! The team average this season was 35-27. After a brief interview with the golf coach, Jim Cornick, it was easy to see his excitement over these performances. Cornick described that “the boys went on to win the tournament against Fort Dodge as well, which was fantastic!”. State Golf took place October 5th, and the teams lead player, J.J Wickman, was the sole competitor. JJ finished 32nd out of 82 and scored a 77.

Next season plans to bring new changes for the overall lineup of the team. With 8 seniors graduating, Cornick says that the new line up will “bring about a new opportunity for younger players to take up varsity spots”. Overall, the golf team finished the season off on a high note, leaving room for excitement for the next upcoming season. Congratulations to Mohawks Boys Golf for a memorable season! Go Mohawks!
