Mohawk Wrestlers Find Success

The 2016-2017 Mohawk Wrestling season was a great success! The team included many outstanding individuals. Cullan Schriever, freshmen, wrestled 106 and was ranked first in the state this season. Isaac Bartel, senior, wrestled at 195 and is a two-time state place winner. The team’s dual meet record is 3-6. Dusty Rhodes has had the opportunity to coach very talented kids. His goal this year was to take as many people to state tournament as he can, place, and win.

His goals were accomplished when he took 3 wrestlers down to the Well; Colby Schriever, Cullan Schriever, and Isaac Bartel. Colby was 0-2 at State, but, as a freshman, making it to the state tournament is a huge accomplishment. He competed well. Cullan Schriever concluded an undefeated freshman season with a State Championship. Coach Rhodes stated how he was incredibly happy to see Cullan get where he wanted and what he deserves. Isaac Bartel, after placing in the state tournament the past two years, concluded his senior season with a State Championship as well. Isaac is the last of the Bartel boys to come through Mason City. On behalf of the MCHS family, we are very proud of our Mohawk Wrestlers. Congratulations on a fantastic season!
