MCHS Football

Although Mohawk Football has struggled to find wins this year, there have been many positives for the team. Despite being a senior, you can find Marcos Servantez in high spirits as the football season starts coming to an end. After reflecting over the season, he said that his season highlight was the Marshalltown game. Marcos stated that even though the season didn’t bring a lot of success for the Mohawks, he was still thankful to be with his friends. The team made some great memories this year.

Another highlight this year was senior Seth Drumheller. Seth is not your typical high school football player. Despite receiving treatments for cancer, Seth has a starting spot on the varsity team. Because of this, he was featured in an article in the Des Moines Register earlier this fall. Seth is a great example of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Seth represents what all Mohawks should strive to be.

The freshmen and sophomore team ended their season on a high note, with an exciting win against Urbandale last week. The varsity football season may have not had many highs this season, but the players on the team are doing great things and being great examples of how Mohawks should act and live out their lives. The Mohawks have persevered through many challenges this season and have demonstrated great grit and determination. You can catch the varsity team’s last game this Friday against Urbandale at 7 pm in Mohawk Stadium.
