Got Golf?

Boy’s golf had ended about two weeks ago. Boys golf coach Cornick really enjoyed the season this year. “The boys this year were great!” said Coach Cornick.

There were seventeen amazing young men who gave it their all and helped one another. These young men began their journey on the first Monday of August and ended their journey on the first Saturday in October. “They’ve been an amazing group who has helped one another get better throughout the season. I also enjoy that these young men play for the fun of the sport and not to just beat each other,” stated Coach Cornick.

Junior Justin Rowe echoed Coach Cornick’s sentiments. According to Justin, one of the best parts of being on the golf team is the time spent with his teammates. Because they are smaller than other sports, the teammates forge strong friendships over the course of the season. He especially enjoyed road trips to out of town tournaments. When asked about goals for next year, Justin stated “it would be pretty cool to attend the State Tournament.”

One of the boy’s golf’s best matches this year was at Ames where they had an average of 3.17. This was a team effort and everyone is proud of their accomplishment and ready for next season. Congratulation on all golf accomplishments this season!
