Welcome Back: A Letter from Mr. Long

By

Welcome back Mohawks!  I love the energy that comes from the start of a school year and am excited to get the 2017-18 school year under way.  During our first couple of weeks I have seen your positivity by showing your support for each other at activities, your smiles in the halls, and taking pride in being a Mohawk.

The start of the school year can set the tone for success.  Just as you set goals for yourself, our school has goals we have set out to achieve.  Our goal is to have all students graduate from MCHS and be ready for what comes next.  To do this our teachers remain committed to giving their best so you can be at your best.  We can all help MCHS be at its best by setting high expectations that support us all.

Our first step to achieve this is having values we all believe in; Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, and A Safe and Positive Environment.  These values should be visible and present throughout the school.  I believe as students and staff embrace our core values we will demonstrate what makes MCHS a great place to be!

To carry this forward I encourage you to do the little things everyday.  Bring a positive attitude with you and work hard toward your success. Take action and get involved in some way at MCHS.  Treat all students and staff in the building with the level of respect you wish to have in return.  Above all, be kind to one another.  So much good can come from making a conscious effort to be kind to those you see each and every day.

I take great pride in being a Mohawk and know we have what it takes to make MCHS a place all are excited about.  Keep your eyes open and look for the good in others.  Be contagious and spread your positivity and kindness with all as we show our Mohawk Pride in 17-18’!

Go Mohawks!
