There’s A New Librarian In Town

Holly Fiser is a wonderful new addition to the Mason City High School. This is her fifth year with the district. She spent three years at Roosevelt Elementary and one with Jefferson Elementary, both working with the behavior unit. Her true passion for the job was to get one on one time with the students through her work. After about four years of working in the behavior department at the elementary level, she was ready for a change. Mrs. Fiser loves to read, enjoys working with older kids, and loves the atmosphere of the high school. When the librarian position opened, she followed her heart and went for it.

While interviewing Mrs. Fiser, she mentioned how she loves the atmosphere of the high school, along with the students and staff that really represent the important years in a student’s life. She also stated how beautiful the library is, which consists of leather booths, leather chairs, and plenty of tables to work on. She had emphasized the beauty of the sky windows on the ceiling that really give the place a welcoming glow of knowledge.

Some of her goals this year are to develop great relationships with students and to provide help of any kind to anyone. Mrs. Fiser would also like to get more books in the library, while she keeps the library spick and span.

A message that she has for the student body of the high school, which she tells her three kids all the time, is to, “Treat people in life the way you want to be treated”, along with respect. It is safe to say that Mrs. Fiser will make a wonderful addition to the high school, especially due to her desire to tend to the needs of others.
