Teacher Feature: Señora Buseman

By

If you haven’t already heard, there is a new teacher joining the MCHS staff this year. Señora Michelle Buseman has been teaching for 25 years, first at Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock and then at Eagle Grove. She grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa. Buseman filled the vacancy left last year when Lori Axdahl retired.

Señora Buseman wanted to become a teacher because many people around her said that she was good with kids. In addition, she wanted to help people have fun while learning Spanish. Señora Buseman learned Spanish at home and through all of high school, which led to her desire to teach it. When asked why she wanted to come to MCHS, she laughed, “Frau Grommesh convinced me to apply, and it seemed like a good opportunity.” Her students are glad that she decided to join the Mohawk family, and say they enjoy having her as a teacher. Best of luck to Señora Buseman!
