Señora Axdahl Retires

Mrs. Lori Axdahl, known as Señora Axdahl to most of her students, will be retiring after 10 years of teaching at Mason City High School. She teaches Spanish One and Spanish Three to her students.

Mrs. Axdahl’s favorite thing about teaching at MCHS is seeing students use Spanish. She knows many students do not speak Spanish in their lives, and it makes her happy to see students use what she has taught in the classroom. When asked if she had any funny or interesting stories about her experience, she pondered for a second, “We’ve actually moved three times, during construction.” Funnily enough, construction was only three years long.

In retirement, Mrs. Axdahl will be taking care of her new grandchildren, and “figuring out something else later.” She is glad that she has always been good friends with the other teachers in the language department, and she says that she has always thought that the school was run very well.

Mrs. Axdahl has been a wonderful part of the language department for all 10 years she taught at MCHS, and many students will be sad to see her go. Her students all hope her future endeavors will go well and will miss her teaching their Spanish classes every day.
