Mohawk Friday Bakery

Every Friday, the Culinary Arts III class at MCHS holds what has become known as the Mohawk Bakery.  Culinary Arts III is a year-long course for Juniors and Seniors who have previously passed the semester courses of Culinary Arts I and II. The students bake throughout the week to make sure the student customers have fresh food to eat on Friday. Students plan the bakery menus, shop for ingredients, prepare and serve the menu items.

Their food options, whether you get a monster cookie or an egg bake, are consistently delicious and appetizing. This menu consists of bacon breakfast pizza, cinnamon rolls, fruit strudel, and scotcheroos. Other items are seasonal.  For example, sugar cookies, almond bark pretzels, and chocolate covered strawberries are part of the February menu.   For drinks, they serve a variety of smoothie flavors as well as hot chocolate and coffee. With the exception of smoothies, all items for sale are $1. Aside from the Bakery of Fridays, the group also fills orders for a wide variety of school events.  This year Culinary Arts III will cater the Prom dance.

The Mohawk Bakery provides MCHS students with a unique opportunity to learn practical life skills that they can carry with them beyond graduation.
