Lifeguards Wanted

The Mason City Parks and Recreation Department runs many activities and events throughout the year. During the summer, one very common place that families enjoy is the Mason City Family Aquatic Center. The pool is run by the Recreation Department and is asking for your help. Both lifeguards and concession stand workers are needed for the coming year, and years to come.

Due to many guards from previous years leaving, the number of new guards applying do not fully replace the needs of the pool. One great perk the Parks and Rec Department is offering is a reimbursement for lifeguard certification class at the end of the season. If the guard is in good standings, and works 150 hours or more over the summer, they will receive this refund. Certification class costs are high, and for this to be refunded at the end of the season is a very good deal. To be a lifeguard, a person must be at least 15 years old.

As stated before, they are also looking for concession stand workers. So, if a person is not a certified lifeguard, they can always help at the concessions. To work at the concession stand, a person will have to be at least 14 years old.

So, if anyone is looking for a summer job, apply to work at the Aquatic Center in Mason City. Applications are available online, or at the City of Mason City Human Resources Department. In order to work this coming season, applications will need to be turned in by July 31st.
