Isaac Hackman’s passion for photography all started with his mom, who used to take pictures all the time wherever they were at. It was never weird to have a camera around, and eventually Isaac had taken the hobby into his own hands and started to take pictures of his own, which is where his photography journey began. It wasn’t until his 8th grade year until he got his first personal camera, in which he started to take quality pictures. With Isaac being a lover of nature, he enjoys capturing scenic views with his camera, but also people as well, which include senior pictures of his friends and even student groups at the Mason City High School. Isaac can not only capture the uniqueness of the individuals he takes pictures of, but the background knowledge of the person as well within the frame. Isaac also makes videos online that help guide young photographers on how to take quality pictures, along with tips and tricks that he has learned over the years during his time in photography. In his four years at Mason City High School, Isaac has learned many things along his journey of success. Isaac has learned that,” you shouldn’t let people put you down on your dreams, but to instead focus on doing what you love and you will accomplish a lot”. He has also learned from one of the band teachers at the high school, Mr. Kramer, about the importance of character in an individual, and “ being a genuine person is a very good thing to have in life”. But if there is truly one thing to take away from his high school experience, it’s that, “you shouldn’t give up, but to instead strive and persist at whatever it is that you are after in life”.
After high school, Isaac plans on going to the University Of Northern Iowa for undergrad, where he will attain his major in business and marketing. Isaac plans on being a full time photographer in New York City with his own studio. If New York City doesn’t work, he will then shoot for a job as a photographer for a magazine company or a social media page that will irk his creative lifestyle.
Isaac Hackman really knows how to capture the Mohawk Spirit by his fantastic photography. His leadership shines throughout the school by using his gift of photography to benefit the High school in making it a better place to be in by capturing the memories in high school that we will always remember. Isaac Hackman is an individual that will definitely be within those memories when we look back, while we realize on how big of a positive impact that Isaac had in the lives of the student body at the High School.
