The MCHS Music Department recently attended large group contest at Cedar Falls on the 29th of April. The groups that participated were the MCHS Varsity and Concert choirs, Orchestra, and the MCHS band.
The MCHS Varsity Choir, directed by Joel Everist, received a one, the highest rating available. The Concert Choir was also divided into two other choirs for competition. Treble Clef Choir (girls), directed by Sarah Bouska, received a perfect score. The Bass Clef Choir (boys), directed by Joel Everist, received a perfect score as well. MCHS Bans sent two large group ensembles to contest. The Concert Band, directed by Mike McEniry, received the outstanding score of a one. The Symphonic Band, directed by Mr. Kramer, received a score of a one as well.
Finally the MCHS Orchestra, led by Malcolm Burke, received a two at contest. Their contest was held at the middle school in Cedar Falls while all the other events were held at Cedar Falls High School.
