MCHS Drama Prepares for Fall Production

The annual fall play is quickly approaching and everyone should take the opportunity to see it. The show is The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder.. The Matchmaker is the play that the acclaimed musical Hello Dolly! is based on, with the MCHS version starring Senior Sarah Dodd as Dolly Levi and Sophomore Daniel Stephenson as Horace Vandergelder. The show also features Marcus Butweiller as Cornelius Hackl, Dakota Lee as Irene Molloy, Beau Lapointe as Malachi Stack, Ethan Walthall as Barnaby Tucker, Maddi McChesney as Flora Van Huysen, Hannah Brown as Ermengarde, Caleb Lillquist as Ambrose Kemper, Keira Nobis as Minnie Fay, Jayden Smith as Joe the Barber and Mick the Cabman, Lucas Bartholomew as August the Waiter, Jason Davis as Rudolph the waiter, Courtney Smith as Gertrude the Maid, as well as many more extras and tech crew that help to make the production a real spectacle.

The story is set in nineteenth century New York, featuring a disgruntled merchant and a scheming matchmaker mixed with several other characters in a mischievous trek across New York City and Yonkers, making for one hilarious adventure. The fall play runs from Friday, November 10th through Sunday, November 12th. Tickets will be available to purchase in the Mason City High School Office.
